Quick answer

For most people who want the whole garden kept on top of, yes. Our plans start from £99 a month with 30 days' notice to cancel, and cover fortnightly lawn cuts, edging and the beds. If you only need the lawn cut, or a tidy up once or twice a year, one-off bookings are cheaper.

What our plans include

PlanPriceWhat's included
EssentialFrom £99 a monthFortnightly lawn cut and edging, bed maintenance, a site tidy after every visit
PremiumFrom £129 a monthEverything in Essential, plus hedge and shrub maintenance, border weeding and edging, scarification and aeration
EstateBespokeLarger properties and grounds, scope agreed at the first visit

All plans include scheduled visits, seasonal report cards and a single monthly direct debit, and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. You also get a short note after each visit saying what we did.

Plan or one-off bookings: the real numbers

Here's how a plan compares with booking things as you need them, using our own prices and real jobs from this year.

Way of doing itWhat it costsWhat you get
Essential planFrom £99 a month, which is £1,188 if you stay on all yearLawn cut and edged every two weeks, beds kept on top of, the same faces every visit
Lawn mowing onlyFrom £30 a cut, most lawns £35The lawn cut every two weeks, nothing else
One-off tidy up£250 with waste on a real front garden job, about two hoursOne visit, the garden sorted, then it grows back
Booked day1 person £360, 2 people £600, 3 people £8408 hours on site and one van load of green waste

As a rough guide, if we cut a lawn every two weeks from March to late November, that's about 19 cuts, so around £665 a year at £35 a cut. If all you want is the lawn, mowing on its own is cheaper than a plan. The plan earns its money when you also want the edges, beds and borders looked after, because those are the bits that turn into a tidy up or a clearance if they're left.

The honest pros

  • It stops the garden getting out of hand. The garden clearances we did this year cost between £255 and £750, and regular visits are what stop a garden getting to that point.
  • You don't have to think about it. We know what needs doing each visit and get on with it, and the work changes with the seasons.
  • Same faces every visit, who know your garden and what you like.
  • One fixed monthly payment, instead of a big bill every time it gets away from you.

The honest cons

  • You pay every month, including the quieter winter months when there's less to do.
  • If you only want the lawn cut, a plan is more than you need. Mowing on its own is from £30 a cut.
  • If you enjoy gardening and just want a hand once or twice a year, a one-off tidy up or a booked day will cost you less.
  • It's not a clearance. If the garden's already overgrown, it needs a garden clearance first, then a plan to keep it that way.

So, is it worth it for you?

If you want the whole garden kept tidy and you'd rather not deal with it, a plan usually makes more sense, and with 30 days' notice to cancel you're not stuck if it doesn't suit. If you only want one job done, or you like doing most of it yourself, book what you need when you need it. Either way, send us a photo and I'll tell you honestly which one makes more sense for your garden.

Maintenance plan FAQs

Maintenance plans: your questions

How much is a garden maintenance plan?

Our plans start from £99 a month for Essential and £129 a month for Premium, paid by monthly direct debit. Larger properties and grounds get bespoke Estate pricing, agreed at the first visit.

Is there a contract?

No long contract. You can pause or cancel a regular plan with 30 days' notice.

What is included in the £99 a month plan?

The Essential plan includes a fortnightly lawn cut and edging, bed maintenance and a site tidy after every visit. Premium adds hedge and shrub maintenance, border weeding and edging, scarification and aeration.

Is a plan cheaper than booking a gardener when I need one?

It depends what you need. If you only want the lawn cut, mowing on its own from £30 a cut is cheaper. If you want the lawn, edges and beds all kept on top of, a plan usually works out better than paying for tidy ups each time it gets away from you.

Can I start a plan if my garden is overgrown?

Yes, but it usually needs a garden clearance or a booked day first to get it back under control. After that, most customers move onto regular maintenance to keep it that way.
