Between the mountain and the bay
Pembrey sits between Burry Port and Kidwelly, overlooking Carmarthen Bay. Pembrey Mountain rises behind the village, and in front of it the land runs out towards Pembrey Country Park, the dunes of Pembrey Burrows and the long beach at Cefn Sidan.
We are based in Kidwelly, about 4 miles away by road, and Pembrey is part of our regular coastal round along with Burry Port and Pwll.
That mix gives you two kinds of garden. Up on the higher side of the village you can be dealing with slopes and banks, while nearer the park and the burrows gardens are more open to the wind off the bay and often sit on sandier ground that dries out fast.

Cut a little higher
Salt wind and sandy, free draining soil are hard on short grass. Most coastal lawns round Pembrey do better kept at about 35 to 40mm.
Ease off in dry spells
Sandy ground dries out fast, so in a hot spell we raise the mower again, because longer grass shades its own roots.
Keep it regular
We mow on fortnightly rounds from £30 a cut, and most lawns are £35, so the grass never gets away from you.

Jobs we have done just along the coast

How we can help
As well as lawns, hedges and clearances, we clean patios and clear gutters. Patios and paths near the coast pick up wind blown sand, salt and green algae from the damp sea air, and the sand works into block paving joints, so we wash it out and tell you if the joints need topping up.

If you don't pay for waste removal, clippings go in your green bin or we leave them tidy on site.
