Pressure washing a driveway usually costs between £100 and £350 in the UK, depending on the size, according to MyJobQuote's driveway cleaning guide updated in September 2026. Our guide prices are £4 to £8 per m² depending on the surface, with a £120 minimum, so a two car block paved drive of about 30m² is £150, and you get a fixed price in writing once we've seen a photo.

MyJobQuote's guide to power washing a driveway, last updated in September 2026, puts the average at £300 and gives these prices by size.

Checkatrade's patio cleaning cost guide, last updated in May 2026, prices it by the square metre instead. It gives averages of around £3 per m² for patio slabs, concrete and tarmac, £3.50 per m² for block paving and £4.50 per m² for timber decking. Cleaning and sealing comes to around £6.50 per m² for patio slabs and £7 per m² for block paving. It also says many companies set a minimum charge, often based on 30m². Neither guide says whether its prices include VAT.

Not sure how big your drive is? As a rough guide, a one car drive is about 15m², a two car drive about 30m², and a three or four car drive about 50m².
Our rates per m² are higher than Checkatrade's averages, but on a typical two car drive our £150 sits inside MyJobQuote's £100 to £160 for a 30m² drive. We'd rather show you the real numbers than a price that only looks low.

Washed and sealed, that two car drive is £270, inside MyJobQuote's £200 to £300 for cleaning and sealing a 30m² drive. Because of the £120 minimum, small areas are often worth doing together, like a small patio and the path round the side.
What's included
- Pressure set for the surface. We adjust the pressure and the distance for each surface, and take more care with soft stone like Indian sandstone, which can be marked by too much pressure.
- Weeds and moss out of the joints. Weeds and moss blasted out of the joints between slabs and blocks.
- Walls and edges. Low garden walls, kerbs and edging cleaned along with the main area.
- A tidy finish. Debris swept up and cleared away, so you're not left with a mess.

What changes the price
- The size of the area. We price by the square metre, so a bigger drive or patio costs more.
- The surface. Concrete and tarmac drives are the cheapest at £4 per m², block paving drives are £5 per m², patios, paths and steps are £6 per m², and decking and garden walls are £8 per m².
- Re-sanding and sealing. These are extras on block paving drives and patios, at £3 and £4 per m².
- The minimum job. Anything that works out under £120 is charged at £120.
Do you need re-sanding and sealing?
Block paving usually needs the joints topping up with kiln-dried sand after washing, because the old sand comes out with the dirt. We'll tell you if yours needs it. Sealing is optional. It helps keep the colour and slows the moss coming back.
When to get it done, and how long it lasts
Spring and late summer are the most popular times, to get the patio ready for summer or clean up after it. Hard surfaces can be washed any time it isn't freezing. Most patios stay noticeably cleaner for a year or more. Shady, north-facing areas green up faster.

Pressure washing suits drives, patios and paths.
