Clearing gardens in Burry Port
Burry Port and Pembrey gardens sit right on the coast. Salt wind keeps some plants low, but the tough ones, like brambles and coastal hedging, grow strongly and spread into lawns and paths if nobody is keeping on top of them.
We do a lot of work round Burry Port, from hedges to overgrown lawns, so we know the area and the access in the older streets near the harbour.
A clearance is usually the first step. Afterwards, most coastal gardens only need a couple of visits a year to stay under control, and we can set that up for you or just leave it with you.
The Brambles Ate His Pub Garden and He Wants It Back
What we clear
Brambles, nettles and weeds
Cut down and cleared from beds, borders, banks and the back corners nobody's been near in years.
Long grass and rough ground
Knocked back with heavy brushcutters, then cut down so it can be mowed again.
Overgrown hedges and shrubs
Reduced in height and width, or cut back hard to low stumps where they've taken over.
Ivy and climbers
Pulled off fences, walls and sheds and cut at the base so you can see what's underneath.
All green waste taken away
Loaded up and taken to a licensed site. No skip, no tip runs, no piles left behind.
A proper finish
Paths and patios blown off and the whole area raked over, ready to use or maintain.
What a clearance doesn't include
- Digging out roots or grinding stumps. We cut back to ground level or low stumps only.
- Tree felling or anything needing climbing or rope work.
- Household rubbish, building waste or anything hazardous. Green waste only.
Clearances we've filmed

Registered waste carrier
In Wales you are legally responsible for where your garden waste ends up. Under the household waste duty of care you must only hand it to a registered waste carrier, and you can be fined £300 if it gets fly-tipped by someone who isn't. Natural Resources Wales explains it in their guidance for householders.
We're registered with Natural Resources Wales, and every clearance quote includes taking the green waste to a licensed site. You don't need to book a slot at Trostre recycling centre or hire a skip.

Common questions
Do you work in Pembrey as well as Burry Port?
Yes. Burry Port, Pembrey and Pwll are all on our regular patch, along with Trimsaran and Kidwelly. Anywhere in SA16, give us a ring.
Does sea air change how you clear a garden?
Not the clearance itself, but it changes what we suggest afterwards. Coastal gardens suit tough, wind-tolerant planting, and hedges near the sea usually need a good trim once or twice a year to stay healthy and in shape.
How much does garden clearance cost in Burry Port?
Every clearance is priced on its own, because two gardens the same size can be completely different amounts of work. We look at the size, how thick the growth is, access and how much waste will come out, then give you a fixed price in writing. The price includes taking the green waste away.
Why not just use the council garden waste bin?
The council's garden waste service is one 240 litre bin, collected fortnightly for part of the year, at £60.60 a year for 2026. That's great for keeping on top of a garden, but a clearance usually fills several van loads, which is why it's quicker and cheaper to have it taken away in one go.
Do you dig out roots and stumps?
No. We cut everything back to ground level or low stumps, which is what most clearances need. Digging out roots is a much heavier job, so we leave it out of our quotes and say so in writing.
Can you clear a garden in bird nesting season?
Yes, carefully. Between March and August we check hedges, brambles and shrubs for active nests before we cut, because damaging an active nest is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If we find one, that section waits.
