We're Keltic Grounds Wales, a family run garden and grounds business based at 23 New Street in Kidwelly. Gorseinon is about 15 miles from our base by road. We come out through Llanelli on the A484, past Bynea and over the Loughor bridge into Loughor, and Gorseinon is just up the road from there.
We'll be honest with you: Gorseinon is in the City and County of Swansea, and it's further out than most of our regular work, which is mainly around Kidwelly, Llanelli, Burry Port and Carmarthen. Gorseinon sits near the Loughor estuary, about 6 miles north west of Swansea city centre. It was only a small village until the late 1800s, when coal mining and the tinplate works at Grovesend turned it into a town. So a lot of the housing near the centre is older terraces and workers' houses, with newer homes further out.
With older terraced houses, the back garden is often long and narrow, and sometimes the only way in is through the house. If that's you, tell us when you send the photos. We lay dust sheets and carry everything out through the house, and we'll talk it through when we quote.
Garden waste in Gorseinon works differently
This is the bit that catches people out. Gorseinon is Swansea Council, not Carmarthenshire, and instead of a green garden waste bin, Swansea collects garden waste in its reusable white bags, fortnightly. The council asks for no more than 10 bags a collection, each under 15kg, and won't take large branches, logs, soil or rubble. It has also paused kerbside garden waste collections over December and January, so check the council website for this winter's dates.
White bags are fine for a lawn cut. A full clearance or a big hedge reduction fills a lot more than 10 bags, though, so on a quoted job we price waste removal separately on the quote, and a whole day booking includes one van load of green waste taken away.

Our nearest job to Gorseinon so far

The client there works full time and had been cutting a path through the brambles herself just to reach her back door. No. Our quotes never include digging out roots. We cut everything back to ground level or leave low stumps, and we'll tell you before we start if that affects your plans.
Are you insured, and can you take the waste away?
Yes. We carry £5 million public liability insurance and we're a registered waste carrier, so when waste removal is part of the price, we take it away ourselves.
